The Cisco SFP-10G-SR module gives you a wide variety of 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity options for your data center, enterprise wiring closet, and service provider transport applications. The SFP-10G module boasts a variety of features and benefits, including being the industry’s smallest form factor, which results in the greatest density per chassis. The SFP-10G-SR is hot-swappable and can be switched out with ease. Cisco 10GBase-SR SFP+ modules also feature Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) functionality, which allows you to monitor the signal strength, the temperature of the SFP, and the transceiver voltage.

The Cisco SFP-10G-SR optical transceiver provides digital optical monitoring capability for short-reach (SR) fiber optic networks using a wavelength of 850nm via an LC or SC connector for strong diagnostics.

The 10GBASE-SR supports the standard Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF) and enables the monitoring and analysis of the performance of the optical network by providing a 10Gbps throughput over a range of 300m.

The module supports a link length of 26m on standard FDDI-grade MMF, which is a type of fiber optic cable that is commonly used in networking applications. However, by using higher-grade MMF, such as OM3 or OM4, the link length can be extended to up to 300m or 400m, respectively.

This hot-swappable transceiver is easy to install and guarantees optimal performance on low power consumption, providing digital diagnostics monitoring and data trafficking via a 2-wire serial interface.

The module is compliant to work with a wide range of networking equipment such as switches, routers, and different network interface cards.

Provides optical interoperability with 10GBASE XENPAK, X2, and XFP interfaces on the same link.
